Chief Blasts Politicians

Berima Asar addressing the people
The Benkumhene of Gomoa Dabenyi and the Kyidomhen of Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Area, Barima Owusu Asar I has lambasted politicians for trying to destroy the country for their selfish interests.

He said Ghanaians do not have any country apart from Ghana, hence the need for politicians to protect and ensure total development, peace and tranquility of the country for the betterment of all instead of dividing the people.

Barima Asar said this during the purification of his stool at Gomoa Dabenyi in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region over the weekend.

The chief expressed concern about the way some politicians neglect certain communities in terms of development, simply because the communities have affiliation with opposing political parties.

‘Politicians would go but Ghana would continue to remain the same; don’t allow yourself to be used by the politicians for cheap political gimmicks’, he admonished.

Barima Asar underscored the need for government to involve chiefs in the country’s developmental agenda since they are the ones who would provide lands for projects such as hospitals, schools among others.

He stressed the need for women to inter into politics.

He appealed also to government to ensure the revival of the sanitary inspectors in the country to promote clean environment to help reduce communicable diseases government spend huge sums of money in treating.

He called on the youth in the area to take their studies seriously to become responsible citizens in future.

The chief bemoaned the situation where Gomoa has been rated second in the prevalence of teenage pregnancy in the country, adding the traditional council would soon arrest and deal drastically with such offenders.
