Chief Appeal To IGP Over Alleged Fulani Robbers


Chief of Dedesewirako in the Fanteakwa District of the Eastern Region, Osabarima Bosompem Ayiripe has appealed to the Inspector General Of Police, National Security, and the army as a matter urgency to deploy more security personel to the area to stop and arrest recent activities of armed robbers.

Armed robbers suspected to be Fulanis have since late last year attacked, robbed and wounded road users who ply Begoro – Dedeso – Mpaem road of their monies and mobile phones.

According to the chief, the robbers since last October have attacked road users including himself and other dignitaries which is a great worry to the people.

“I was personally robbed of 1,000 ghana cedis, my phones. So the situation needs emergency response from all the security agencies in order to deal with these Fulani robbers” Osabarima revealed.

“Our sources indicates there are “informantes” in Begoro who feeds these robbers with the necessary tips so we are working out to get them” he added.

Osabarima Bosompem Ayiripe in an interaction with Bryt FM reporter, Nyarko Abronoma, attributed the robbery cases to the poor road network leading to the communities and therefore called on the Government to include it in the cocoa road project.

District Chief Executive, Abass Fuseini Sbaabe said a Police Post is being constructed at Dedeso whiles barriers are also mounted to provide 24 – hour security to road users and residents.
