Chaos At NPP HQ As Angry Youth Distract NEC Meeting

Tension has engulfed the headquarters of the opposition New Patriotic Party in Accra after some aggrieved party members besieged the premises to distract an ongoing meeting by the National Executive Committee of the party.

The NEC of the elephant family is reportedly meeting over the election impasse that has afflicted the Korle Klottey constituency which has ended up in court. The youth, according to reports, are against the meeting.

The cutlass wielding youth who thronged the head office Wednesday reportedly chased journalists who had converged at the premises with cutlasses and also smashed vehicles.

Several police officers have been dispatched to the scene.

The Korle Klottey NPP has been plagued with disputes following the decision of one of the defeated aspirants Philip Addison to challenged the results of the primary in court. The elected candidate Nii Noi has, however, noted that he will not accept any decision to re-run the polls.
