CETAG To Hold NEC Emergency Meeting In Kumasi Over Strike

Yen Daakye Team is reliably informed that the National Executive Council of College of Teachers Association of Ghana will be holding an emergency meeting 28th January, 2014 at St. Louis College of Education in Kumasi to make final decision on their nationwide strike which they started last week.

The meeting has become important because of the declaration made by the National Labour Commission of Ghana that CETAG strike was illegal and pr-matured on the ground that:

CETAG did not passed through the right channel in calling for the strike action, and

Our requests that came out at the earlier strike were being satisfied if not satisfied since all the documents asked for were provided (scheme of work, condition of service and statutes).

The said meeting will be attended by inviting all Zonal and Local Chairmen.

Based on the above issues, NCL therefore requested that CETAG calls off the strike since members’ salaries could be withheld and later followed by dismissal.
