The Canadian High Commissioner To Ghana,. Mr. Christopher Thornley, Cuddling One Of The Kids During His Visit



Mr. Christopher Thornley, the Canadian High Commissioner to Ghana has paid a 2-day working visit to the Northern Region of Ghana.

The purpose of his visit was to inspect some development projects currently being undertaken by the Canadian Government in partnership with the United Nation’s Children Fund (UNICEF) and the World Food Programme (WFP) in the Northern Region.

In his address, Mr. Thornley commended workers of the Nyankpala Health Center for the services being rendered to the community especially to mothers and vulnerable children suffering malnutrition.

He also pledged to strengthen the support in reducing malnutrition among children through the provision of food supplements for improving child health and nutrition.

For her part, Mrs. Clara Dube, the Northern Regional Sub Field Director of UNICEF, urged women to visit the health centers regularly to seek early health advice to prevent the loss of their children.

She further entreated the donor partners to help provide more support for malnourished children in rural communities in Ghana.
