Lovely in leather: Beyonce absolutely slayed as she brought new song Formation to her performance at the Super Bowl 50 Halftime Show in Santa Clara, California on Sunday

Beautiful: The crowd participated in the show as a colourful message could be seen at the end of the star-studded performance

While the overall performance was rather light and fun, Beyonce made a strong political statement with her backing dancers’ costumes inspired by members of armed rights group the Black Panthers.

Only Beyonce could get away with using such a high profile moment to promote a new track – which she did with a triumphant performance of Formation, which has widely been touted as a rallying cry for the Black Lives Matter movement.
