Ayariga’s Boy Testicles Smashed

A man in his early 30s nearly lost his testicles and manhood when some persons believed to be his colleague National Democratic Congress (NDC) youth, attacked him Wednesday night at Sabongari in the Bawku municipality.

The victim, according to the Bawku Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Lovelace Kaletsi Tefutor, has been operated upon at the Bawku Presbyterian Hospital and was responding to treatment.

DAILY GUIDE source in Bawku indicated that the perpetrators are some friends of the victim who were arguing with him over who was going to win the Saturday, November 21 parliamentary primary of the NDC in the Bawku Central constituency to represent the party in the 2016 parliamentary election.

According to the source, almost all the NDC youth were against Mahama Ayariga (former Minister of Youth and Sports) for what they described as his divisive tendencies and snobbish attitude toward ordinary persons in the party in general and the constituency in particular.

They reiterated claim in the constituency that the MP is vindictive and does not easily forgive people who offend him.

In the course of the accusations, this young man stood up to defend him and predicted that he (Ayariga) would win the primary on Saturday over the former Municipal Chief Executive and one of the aspirants, Musah Abdulai.

These dissenting views resulted in a heated argument and so the victim left the scene. According to the DAILY GUIDE source, the victim went to the Bawku Presbyterian Hospital to visit a sick relative and on the way back he was attacked by persons he suspected were his fellow NDC supporters whom he had the argument with.

They allegedly cut his testicle open, attempted to cut off the penis and when they missed that target, the sharp object purportedly slashed a portion of his thigh near his private part, leaving a deep wound.

Chief Superintendent Tefutor in an interview with the DAILY GUIDE, confirmed the incident and said some names had been mentioned and that the police would soon arrest those people to assist in investigation and possible prosecution.

According to him, in spite of the incident, the municipality had been peaceful.

He said the police were ready to provide efficient security in the constituency to protect lives and properties before, during and after the NDC primary on Saturday.
