Assemblies in Volta Region boycott Sister-City Initiative

Ho, Feb 18, GNA – All Municipal and District assemblies in the Volta Region except Kpando boycotted the opportunity to roll onto the Sister-City Initiative, Mr Prince Kwame Kludjeson, Africa Region Director of the Initiative, has said.

As a result the MDAs in the region lost out on a $75 million package for Africa, 7.5 million dollars of which went to seven District Assemblies in Ghana, he said.

Mr Kludjeson was addressing a meeting of some officials from Cybele Engineering led by its CEO Mrs Beatrice Mensah-Tayui and the top hierarchy of Ho Polytechnic in Ho.

Mr Kludjeson is helping to establish a working relationship between the two entities.

‘DCEs in the Volta Region don’t patronize our calls’, he said.

He said it was regrettable that opportunity was left to slip away while the people in the region complained their developmental needs.

Mr Kludjeson said there was the need to change lukewarm attitude to opportunities because that would frustrate people who are genuinely out to help the region to develop.
