Aspiring Assembly woman prioritizes the vulnerable

Lamboya (U/E), Feb. 20, GNA – Miss Rebecca Akoogo Adabogo, Aspiring Assembly woman for the Lamboya Electoral area in the Bawku West District, has pledged to support the physically challenged, women and children.

Miss Akoogo said they needed every support by the public to improve upon their lives and urged the electorate to vote for her in the District Assembly Elections to bring change in the lives of the people.

The only woman among three other contestants in Lamboya, told the GNA in an interview that she pledged to advocate for education for the youth and ensure that children who were out of school went back to the classroom.

Miss Akoogo said she would place priority on the physically challenged, women and widows she would liaise with development organizations and the district assembly to empower them through income earning activities.

She said she would collaborate with the district assembly and development partners to bring development to her electoral area.

The new entrant said being the only woman in the race with men was challenging because of pressures from some members of the community that an unmarried woman should step aside for other contestants.

She appealed to other women in the race and those who are in situations like her not to be discouraged by comments of people but work hard.
