Appointment of President demonstrates commitment to good governance

Sunyani, Jan. 22, GNA – Mr Raphael Godlove Ahenu, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Global Media Foundation (GLOMEF) has congratulated President John Dramani Mahama for his appointment as co-chair of group 16 eminent Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) advocate.

According to the CEO of the media advocacy and anti-corruption non-governmental organisation, the appointment of President Mahama was a demonstration of his commitment to good governance and contribution to global development.

President Mahama and Prime Minister of Norway, Ms Ema Solberg are to support the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in his efforts to generate momentum and commitment to achieve the SDGs by 2030.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Sunyani, Mr Ahenu appealed to President Mahama to use his new position to lobby and ensure that needed resources are galvanised for the implementation of the SDGs.

‘We can draw good policies on paper but if we don’t have the required support for effective implementation, our vision to transform the world and for that matter Africa by 2030 would remain a mirage,’ he said.
