American Rapper, Obie Trice Live In Ghana On The Urban Xpress Hiphop Radio Show This Sunday


The former Eminem and shady records compatriot popularly known for his global smash hit “snitch” featuring Akon released in 2006 which peaked at most international music charts, who also started rapping at age 11, by name Obie Trice is said to be the guest on the “westside connection” segment of the globally endorsed and informative Urban Xpress Hip Hop Show in Ghana this Sunday from 1 -3 pm hosted by young music scientist, dj-ALjahZEEra on Radio Univers 105.7fm – Accra, Ghana.

Obie Trice III, born and raised in Detroit , Michigan along with three brothers of African and German descent, Trice was given a karaoke machine by his mother when he was eleven and he used it to rhyme over instrumentals from artists such as N.W.A . Obie Trice “real name no gimmicks” was introduced to Eminem through D12 member Bizarre which he later received a call from his manager informing him that he would be having dinner with Eminem, who signed him in 2000 to his Shady records.

Later in 2002, Obie rapped on songs for the 8 Milesoundtrack , and also had a cameo appearance in the film as a rapper in a parking-lot.Trice released his debut album, Cheers , on September 23, 2003 with its first single ” Got Some Teeth ” got well received on radio in multiple countries. He also released the singles ” The Set Up ” and ” Don’t Come Down “.

The album consisted of 17 tracks with production from Eminem , Dr. Dre , Timbaland , Mike Elizondo , Emile, Fredwreck and Mr. Porter , with featuring artistes such as Busta Rhymes , Eminem , 50 Cent , Lloyd Banks , Dr. Dre , Nate Dogg , D12 , Tony Yayo , and Timbaland . The album was eventually certified platinum by the RIAA .

In June 2008, Obie Trice departed from Shady Records due to concerns that he was not being promoted properly. Contrary to public belief at the time of the announcement, a misunderstanding was made where it was believed he was attacking the label and Eminem on a single titled “The Giant” but this was quickly dismissed. He’s being on his own independent label,”Black Market Entertainment” since 2010 and is also speculated to release another album “The Hangover” this year with three tracks produced by Warren G. Trice has strongly being promoting his upcoming single “Good Girls” on social media scheduled to be released on 16th of June, 2015 which he is to use announce his full time musical comeback.
