Algeria and Iran Re-Affirms Commitments to Support Tijaniyya Council

The Spiritual leader of Tijaniyya Muslim Council of Ghana Sheikh Abul-Faidi Abdulai Maikano, on Monday paid a courtesy call on the Ambassador of Algeria to Ghana.

Sheikh Abul-Faidi Abdulai Maikano expressed gratitude to him for sending a representative to represent the embassy at this year’s Sheikh Tijani’s life celebration which took place in November, 2015 at Prang in the Brong Ahafo region.

He acknowledged that, Algeria as the first Arab country in the history of the event to have attended highly religious event.

Sheikh Khalifa expressed that, he pray that the mutual relationship between the two entities will end abruptly but rather continue to grow from strength to strength for their mutual benefit.

Shiekh Mutawakil Iddriss a member of the Tijaniyya Council’s delegation, applauded the ambassador for the assistants offered the council and said this kind gesture will go a long way to cushion the work of the council in spreading Islam and Tijaniyya.

He added that the council need more assistants to enable it consolidate its effort in emancipating the youth from the lack of Skills training and entrepreneurship. This is to help the youth to be self employed.

On his part the Algeria Ambassador to Ghana ………………………………………… showed his appreciation for the visit and re-affirms his country’s and office support to the Tijaiyya Muslim Council Of Ghana.

He also assured the Council his persistence in working hand in to achieve positive result in the spread of Islam and Tijaniyya.

In another development the council paid a similar visit to the Iranian embassy in Accra.

Speakers at the meeting expressed their gratitude for the long standing relationship that existed between the Tijaniyya Muslim Council of Ghana and Iran Embassy in Ghana. Request was put by Shiehk Mutawakilu on the need for a Clinic in Prang looking at the large crowd that converges there twice annually. He was also concerned about the establishment of a youth skills training and entrepreneurship centre in Accra.

In response the embassy revealed its preparedness to sign a memorandum of understanding between it and the Tijaniyya Muslim Council of Ghana on various programmes and projects. Sheikh Khalifa prayed for the out-going and in-coming consular of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Ghana. He said this collaboration will help the council to discharge its duties practically.
