Accra, March 10, GNA – President John Dramani Mahama, on Thursday, relieved Mr Francis Kwarteng Arthur, the Acting Director of the Information Services Department of his post.
A statement signed by Mr Julius Debrah, the Chief of Staff and copied to the Ghana News Agency, stated that the Ministry of Communications would now assume responsibility for the Flagstaff House Communications Bureau.
The statement, which was also signed by Dr Edward Omane Boamah, the Minister for Communications, said it was part of the restructuring exercise.
Mr Arthur has since the 59th Independence Anniversary Parade come under criticism for the errors in the ceremony’s brochure.
He has publicly accepted responsibility for the situation and apologised, but some staff of ISD, which he headed, protested, saying he had created an erroneous impression that the Department was responsible for the production of the brochure.
