3rd Made In Ghana Festival Launched

The management of Melcom Group of companies has launched its 3rd made in Ghana festival to create awareness and grow Ghanaians taste for locally manufactured products.

Speaking at the launch in Accra, Director of Communication, Melcom Group of companies, Godwin Avenorgbo, said made in Ghana is a developmental platform created by melcom to showcase successful result of local manufactures whose products they patronize daily to make life worth living.

The open of the made in Ghana sale, he said, is certified and can be obtained from all the 34 branches of melcom nationwide.

He said that the objective of the festival is to reassure the Ghanaians that melcom buys a lot from local manufacturers who are able to meet the standards of the Food and Drugs Authority.

Godwin said the festival is also to lure the attention to made in Ghana product ranges by creating awareness about the availability of such products.

‘Melcom believes that local manufactures are producing quality goods and they need very assistance to increase their capacity to produce more to meet not just the local but also the expert market’ he said.

The Ghana festival is to enable manufactures of products get first-hand information on their product from those who buy and use same.

‘Since 2013 when we first initiated buy made in Ghana campaign to boost local manufacturing and product sale to reduce foreign exchange experditure on imports we have seen a steady rise in companies who have come on board and by so doing increased the number of locally made products on sale’ he stated.

Some of the companies whose products are displayed at the 2015 melcom made in Ghana festival include: Nestle Ghana, Unilever, kasapreko, fan milk, voltic, wilmar, Guinness Ghana ltd and many more.
