2 Nigerians Arrested With Wee

The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested two Nigerians in possession of several quantities of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp in two separate operations in Accra.

The suspects are Chukwu Nwibe Ebuka, 34, a sales assistant and Keji Omotosho, 20.

They were both arrested while attempting to transport the compressed dried leaves to Ivory Coast for sale.

They are in custody assisting in investigations.
Briefing DAILY GUIDE, ACP Timothy Yoosa Bonga, the Deputy Accra Regional Police Commander, said both suspects were apprehended the same day in Accra.

Police received information that suspect Ebuka had in his possession 17 parcels of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.

Police acted swiftly and managed to apprehend suspect Ebuka in Accra who was carrying two big polythene bags.

When the bag was opened, the 17 parcels of dried leaves sealed with a brown cello tape in slabs were discovered.

He was immediately brought to the station for questioning.

Upon interrogation, the suspect admitted that the items were his and added that he was transporting them to Ivory Coast.

Suspect Keji Omotosho was apprehended at Circle around 2am also carrying two bags containing the dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.

A witness in the case suspected that Omotosho was carrying the substance and quickly hinted the police.

When the bag was opened in his presence, it was discovered that both bags contained 14 parcels of compressed dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.

Samples of the dried leaves have been taken for forensic examination.

The two will be put before court when after police investigations.
